On the first Christmas night angels announced the birth of Jesus Christ.
Before that, an angel spoke to Zechariah, Mary, and Joseph.
So when Jesus is baptized, I would think it would have been safe to assume that angels would once again be heard.
But no. The angels are silent. Why?
Because God the Father Almighty Himself speaks!
“This is my beloved Son!”
Could it be that the message of Jesus’ baptism is so important that God Himself speaks of it?
In Jesus’ baptism is our baptism. God the Father speaks loving words at Jesus’ baptism, and lovingly makes us His own children at ours.
Christmas is for the whole world.
Baptism is a supremely personal moment for each one of us.
