Hebrews 11:7 (ESV)
By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
This morning my devotion from “Martin Luther Day by Day” (available here from Concordia Publishing House) reminded me of the faithfulness of Noah.
When God told Noah to build a boat, to gather the animals, to do it now because a flood was coming, Noah did it. He didn’t ask questions, that we know of. He didn’t question the sanity of building a huge boat, especially since rain was unknown at the time.
That’s the kind of faith I want to have.
To follow God unquestionably.
Note: I flesh this thought out a little more in tomorrow’s In My Father’s Footsteps.
