Lenten Journey – Never Fear

Isaiah 51:16

You are my people.

There is nothing to be frightened of when you are a Christian.

Other people can hurt us. We could lose our jobs. Illness can devastate us.

But when God says to you, “You are my people” there is nothing in the world that can hurt us. Not really.

God says to us, through His prophet Isaiah, “Who are you that you are afraid of man who dies … like grass”?

We shouldn’t be afraid of other people. Because God is our Lord and Savior. He created us. He redeems us. He comforts us. He gives us eternal salvation.

We need never be afraid in this world because we are God’s people!

Jesus Christ makes us God’s people by His redemptive sacrifice on the cross.

Through Christ we will always be victorious. Even if we are killed, we are not really dead! Because of Christ’s death and resurrection, we are forever alive and forever free!
